Conclusion
Both cards performed wonderfully in our benchmarks, with each card performing to porportion to the market they were intended for: the Geforce2 GTS card performed second to none (for performance freaks) and the Geforce2 MX card performed quite nice on its own (for casual gamers/mainstream consumer).
With price out of the question, the PowerColor PowerGene Geforce2 GTS video card is simply smashing, performing like there's no tomorrow. This card will please any performance freak and is still the fastest card that you can find on store shelves at this moment--that is, until Geforce2 Ultra cards hit store shelves. You'll be sure that OnePC.NET will be here to give you our take on those cards...
If price is an issue, like the most of us, the PowerColor PowerGene Geforce2 MX card lives up to its role as well. Its performance is still top-notch and will be a fine choice for anybody who's looking to put together a gaming machine and don't wish to spend the equivelent of a car downpayment for one. The addition of a TV-out function combined with NVIDIA's TwinView technology really adds loads of value to this card, especially if you're looking to show off your Quake 3 skills on your big screen TV. =)
